TODAY ROBERT SAWYER ARCHITECT AIA announced a statewide discount to the victims of the California wildfires. In a statement issued by the firm and Mr. Sawyer, a long-time visitor to the Paradise, CA area (whose family lost their home off Pentz Rd. in the tragedy) said his firm was offering a discount to victims and that his services were uniquely qualified to bring a new level of safety, security, and strength to those in need. "This is an opportunity to rebuild better, stronger, and safer,"  he said.


Mr. Sawyer's mobile home / OFFICE was spared destruction having been on a job in Los Angeles. Mr. Sawyer said he was due to arrive at Quail Trails on the Weds. following the blaze. The TERRY CLASSIC office carries and produces it's own fresh water supply and electricity. His firm specializes in difficult and complex field operations such as mapping land tracts for topography and home and business sites.


Sawyer says he is developing standards for extreme fire safety in outlying areas which will preserve the forested community while providing permanent safety to residents without destroying the beauty of the trees in the area. "As we've seen in the fire damage that has been created - there are weak areas in the design of structures which allow them to be prone to damage in the face of superblasts of radiant heat energy. WE HAVE DEVELOPED STANDARDS WHICH WILL REDUCE THE TRANSFER OF HEAT ENERGY AND PROTECT OCCUPANTS AND PROPERTY DURING THESE TYPES OF EVENTS. TRADITIONAL STANDARDS ARE NO MATCH FOR THESE TYPES OF FORCES."

P H I L O S O P H Y

Double bottom line for a building is one that serves mechanically and visually, and is a good citizen. Curb appeal extends to all elevations - not just the front. Buildings should be of their site or when reusing an existing building footprint as is common in Los Angeles, configured to meet new flow and aesthetic guidelines. A good building is not frozen music, it changes with natural sunlight, and night lighting considerations. Robert Sawyer, Architect has completed over 950 custom homes and dwelling units starting with many projects designed in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia, plus over 1,000 units in the following multi-family complexes: Tamarack-On-The-Lake Phase I & II, Bryan Woods Apartments, Woodland Hills Apartments, Walnut Creek Apartments, Tryon Hills, and many others. Also, more than 500 million square feet of commercial office space located in California, North Carolina, South Carolina, Virginia, Georgia, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Robert's has amassed over thirty year's worth of Corporate / Mixed Use, Historic Preservation, Industrial, Land Planning, Medical / Healthcare,  Mission Critical / Military, Office Renovation, Parks & Recreation, Public, Research & Technology, Land Surveying, Topography, Landscape Architecture and Restaurants design experience.
